Hunter Goodman Is an MLB All-Star

As we have discussed in detail, the former Memphis Tiger, Hunter Goodman, has made waves in his short time at the MLB level. On Sunday night, the Colorado Rockies catcher was taken to another level as Goodman was named to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard.

The 25-year-old has made waves since the call-up, which was quite the emotional day, per Goodman to 4 Star Sports when it occurred. The announcement of the All-Star nod comes just two seasons after Elias Diaz earned the MVP honors with an eighth-inning home run in the 2023 All-Star Game. With the performance from Goodman thus far in 2025, this season’s game has the potential to be special for Rockies fans.

In what has been one of the very few bright spots for the Rockies, Goodman has exploded for 16 home runs and 50 RBIs, along with a .843 OPS in just 80 games. In the 6-4 win over the White Sox on Sunday, Goodman did not start for a day of rest. Goodman is the first Rockies player to have at least 50 RBIs before the All-Star break since Charlie Blackmon had 54 and C.J Cron had 69 in the 2021 season.

In June, the former Arlington Tiger in Tennessee ranked first in the MLB in slugging percentage, with .734, and was tied for third in extra-base hits, with 15 for the month. In addition, in this time frame, Goodman smashed 7 home runs, which tied him for the 11th most in the league and tied in total bases with 58.

We at 4 Star Sports expect to see Goodman perform in the Home Run Derby, yet this has not been announced as of the writing of this article. When asked by the media following the White Sox game on Sunday, Goodman stated, “We’ll see,” followed by what was described as a “cagy grin”. This further solidified our prediction of having a Goodman in the Home Run Derby. Stay tuned as we will have much more coverage of the game and performance from Goodman.
