Memphis Baseball – Tigers Welcome Rebels

Memphis Baseball {16-13} dropped their weekend series, against Tulane, with a loss, on Sunday, 6-5 in extra innings. On Tuesday night, Memphis will return home for a battle with OIe Miss {16-11} and will be looking to get back in the win column. We will look at the series historically, the large crowd that will be on hand, how to watch this game, and what is next for Memphis following Ole Miss. What is the history of these two programs?

Tigers And Rebels Historically

Memphis and Ole Miss will have met 103 times dating back to the 1978 season. Ole Miss leads the overall series, 64-39, over Memphis which includes a current seven-game winning streak. The last Memphis win in this series came in the 2017 season, when Memphis would sweep the Rebels, with wins over the team when they were #8 and #11 ranked. This will be the first season the Tigers have hosted the Rebels in their home stadium since the 2002 season. Can Memphis snap this losing streak against the defending champions?

As mentioned above, Memphis will be playing this game at, FedEx Park Avron Fogleman Field, which is their home stadium. When these two take the field the stadium will be full. Memphis has announced that this game will be a sellout which is impressive. The program at Memphis will be looking to get a huge win, at home, over a top team in the nation. It is refreshing to see this program garnering sellouts for its games. Memphis coach, Kerrick Jackson, is building a culture of winning and that includes a loyal and loud fanbase for their games.
