A Night of Wrestling Legacy: All Elite Wrestling Showdown at FedEx Forum

In a heartfelt nod to the Memphis wrestling legacy, AEW invited the legendary announcer, Dave Brown, to help call a spectacular match. The “Memphis Street Fight” was a clash between the Ring of Honor World, New Japan Pro Wrestling STRONG Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston, and wrestling icon Jeff Jarrett.

The stakes were high, adding an extra layer of intensity to the fight. If Jarrett were to win, this would secure Jay Lethal a shot at the Ring of Honor World Championship. With the legendary voice of Dave Brown heightening the tension, the FedEx Forum was set for a fight to remember.

The match was brutal and unpredictable. Jarrett and Kingston pulled out all the stops, from the trash can lid swings to cooler blasts, guardrail rams, and even a Kendo stick whack. The intensity only heated up as Kingston covered Jarrett with ketchup and mustard, distracting Karen Jarrett.

In a surprise attack, Jay Lethal rocked Kingston with a cutter off the ramp and through a table, sending shockwaves through the crowd. This enabled Jarrett to take control of the match, smashing Kingston with a lead pipe and locking him in a punishing figure four in the center of the ring.

Kingston, however, still needed to be finished. He reversed the figure four, dodged a top-rope assault from Lethal, and delivered a series of rapid-fire chops to both Lethal and Jarrett. However, Karen’s interference allowed Jarrett to regain the upper hand with the Lethal Injection { finishing move name}, but Kingston countered with a half-and-half.

The climax of the match was as chaotic as it was gripping. Kingston wiped out Satnam Singh with a guitar shot, and Jarrett responded with the Stroke {finishing move name} for a near fall. A chokeslam from Singh and another Stroke from Jarrett, followed by Lethal’s Lethal Injection, enabled Jarrett to pin Kingston finally.

In the words of commentator Nigel McGuinness, “This is an absolute mugging.” The match was a brutal display of talent and tenacity, a fitting tribute to the legacy of Memphis wrestling. The spectacle was a testament to the vibrant and dynamic world of AEW, demonstrating why they are at the forefront of professional wrestling. The fans of Memphis and the world look forward to what All Elite Wrestling will bring to the table next.
