Is It Time For The Adam Page Era In AEW?
When was the last time we saw the All Elite Wrestling Championship title?
Current champion, Jon Moxley, has held this prestigious belt hostage, in a briefcase, for almost 7 months since his win over Bryan Daneldson at AEW WrestleDream. With their most recent pay-per-view, yes, the company still refers to these events as this, of Double or Nothing in the rear view, we now shift our focus to the next event, in July, at All In, taking place in Arlington, Texas, from Globe Life Field. With this, the road to Texas has begun, and we ask a question many fans may also be pondering: “Who will take the title off Moxley?”.
We will look at some recent events within the brand and who we think is a prime candidate to carry the title for the company.
Is This The Time?
On the most recent episode of Dynamite, from El Paso, Texas, we saw Tony Schiavone in the ring to welcome the fans in attendance and on television to the show. Then, we see him bring “Hangman” Adam Page to the ring as Page won the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament Championship at Double or Nothing over Will Ospreay.
While many across the fanbase may feel that waiting for a returning Darby Allin to return, this opening spoke to us for Page to be the one to defeat Moxley. Page took the title off and handed it over to the company as he stated that “Someone else would come along” to win the title next year and that he was “Shifting his focus to the All Elite Wrestling World Championship”.
This moment stuck out as Page mentioned that he “Promised” the fans he would win and defend this title with all he had. In the business of wrestling, we do not see many promises made, so this will be an interesting storyline to follow.

Page Has Support
In this opening promo, we saw Swerve Strickland interrupt Page and question how the championship was acquired. Then, we saw the opponents for Page, Ospreay enter the ring to break up the animosity between the bitter rivals. Before Strickland exited, Page was showered with praise as he exclaimed that “They {the fans} were starting to believe again, and it was because of him,” as he pointed to Page while Strickland took offense to this.
The “Rub” from Will to Adam was not the traditional one we see, but, in honesty, it was what the company needed to hear. The fans have seen a resurgence of popularity in storyline and performer, and the ratings are backing this up. While the company will never compete with the likes of the WWE, All Elite can be the best at being themselves.

With support from Opsreay, we see the homegrown talent in Page as the perfect fit to take the reins of a champion. After all, we have seen this image briefly for Page as he held this title one time following a win over Kenny Omega at Full Gear 2021.
Promises Drive Belief
We mentioned that Page promised the fans a championship win. In addition, we mentioned Ospreay mentioned the fans were believing in the company again because of Page. In wrestling, fans will always be attracted to “The Chase” for a championship from the “Face” of the company. In this instance, Page represents this, and fans are into the story.
Will the chase end in Texas with a championship? We will soon find out as the event is on July 12th. With this, we could see more drama between Page and Strickland, and this will only intensify with an AEW title around the waist of Page. With belief in the locker room and stands, the time is now to make full belief a possibility.

In closing, fans have not seen the championship title of the company in months, When this moment happens, the building will erupt. Many want to see Allin be the man who relieves Moxley, but in our opinion, this will need to be put on the list for plans in the future. You ride the hot hand, and for Tony Khan to do “Some Cowboy $hit” is the horse to bring the excitement back for AEW.
